Sound familiar?

It shouldn't be this hard to find a tailor who says yes.

Bought online, doesn't fit

A skirt or dress arrives in the wrong size and the shop won't exchange it. One customer brought exactly that problem here, and left with a skirt that looks like it was made her size.

The fabric scares tailors off

Songket, beaded panels, dresses with inner linings. One customer worried no tailor would touch her songket baju kurung a week before Hari Raya. Elizabeth took it on.

Pushy shops, vague prices

A reviewer put it plainly: other stores can charge unreasonable prices and be very pressurising. Here you get honest advice first, and pricing reviewers call very reasonable.

E.S Lady's own promise, in their words: professional and complicated alteration sewing that others can't. Nothing is too complicated or difficult.

A wedding dress, from scratch

"She created my wedding dress completely from scratch, and I am still amazed by the final result. The level of craftsmanship, attention to detail, and skill that went into every stitch was truly incredible."

Songket baju kurung, one week

"With only a week to go and the fabric being songket, I was worried that no tailor would be able to take it on in time. As the material was expensive, she thoughtfully folded in the excess fabric instead of cutting it, which I really appreciated."

Five pairs of work trousers

"I tailored 5 pairs of work trousers to make them more fitted and auntie was able to deliver what I want in just 1 week! Auntie will give her advice and really cares about what you want."

05

06

Quick when it matters

A songket baju kurung went in on a Friday and was ready by Monday. Five pairs of trousers, fitted in a week.

From scratch

A wedding dress that began as an inspiration photo.

"From the very beginning, she took the time to understand exactly what I envisioned and carefully studied my inspiration photos. The fit was beautiful, the construction was flawless, and every detail was executed with such care and precision."

Custom work is where the atelier's dressmaking side shows. Gowns, cheongsams and evening dresses are cut, sewn and finished by hand, with intricate details built in from the first stitch rather than added on.

Before you come down

Questions customers ask first.

What kind of alterations do you take on?

The complicated ones. Dresses with inner layers, blazers with finished inner seams, delicate fabrics like songket, and everyday jobs like skirt waists and work trousers. E.S Lady handles alteration work for ladies' wear only.

Can you work with delicate or expensive fabric?

Yes. One customer brought a songket baju kurung a week before Hari Raya. Because the material was costly, Elizabeth folded in the excess fabric rather than cutting it, so the piece kept its value.

Do you make dresses from scratch?

Yes. Wedding gowns, cheongsams and evening dresses are sewn from scratch to your own design. Bring an inspiration photo; Elizabeth studies it and builds the dress to match.

How long does an alteration take?

It depends on the job, but reviewers report a songket baju kurung done over a weekend and five pairs of trousers fitted within a week. Tell Elizabeth your deadline when you drop off.

Where exactly is the shop?

Level 3 of Lubritrade Building at 408 North Bridge Road, between Bugis and City Hall. It is the building next to the 7-Eleven; take the lift on your left as you enter and head to level 3, unit #03-02.

When are you open?

Monday to Friday, 1pm to 5pm. Closed on weekends. If you are looking for a ladies' tailor near Bugis on a weekday afternoon, call ahead on 8333 0379 and come by.

How much will it cost?

Every job is different, so Elizabeth quotes after seeing the garment. Reviewers consistently describe her pricing as very reasonable for the quality of the work.

Can you redesign old clothes?

Yes. Old or unwanted jeans and skirts can be redesigned and altered into new, fashionable pieces instead of being thrown out.
